Rava upma

One of the many things to do with sooji(rava) is upma which is a healthy breakfast meal.Topped with veggies and peanuts its wholesome and rich in taste.

How to Make It

1. Step

Roast the rava beforehand. Keep aside. In a frying pan add in the chopped onions and carrots, peanuts, split chickpeas and stir fry.

2. Step

Take some ghee in pan let it melt. Add in the cumin and black mustard seeds and let it splutter. Also add the curry leaves as well. Pour the roasted rava into the pan and mix well. Add in the chopped veggies and continue stirring. Adjust salt and sugar accordingly.


Ingredients

  • 100 gms rava (roasted)
  • 2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp black mustard seeds
  • 3-4 carrots (finely chopped)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 3-4 tbsp roasted chaana daal (split chickpeas)
  • 1 small bowl peanuts
  • 2-3 green chilis slit
  • 3-4 tbsp ghee
