Tasty Healthy Snacks – Yogurt, Granola and Raspberries

tasty healthy snacks 1One of the most tasty healthy snacks you can make for yourself is nonfat yogurt with granola and raspberries. If you have never had the pleasure of enjoying this delicious yet nutritious snack, you’re in for a treat. This is one of the simplest dishes to make, literally taking 2 minutes to whip together. Actually, it will probably take you longer to get the items out of the refrigerator than to combine them all together.

The next time you go to the market for groceries, be sure to add these three ingredients to your shopping list and soon you’ll be enjoying this healthy delight which only weighs in at about 200 calories per serving. Much better, and healthier, than the typical potato chips and soda snack that many eat far too often.

Healthy Snack: Yogurt, Granola and Raspberries

Ingredients
- Nonfat Greek Yogurt (Vanilla – or any other preferred flavor)
- Granola
Fruit to top such as raspberries, blueberries, peaches, strawberries, etc.

Directions
Put a half cup of yogurt in a bowl or the dish you plan to eat out of. Add 1/4 cup of granola and top with fruit slices of your choice. Stir to mix well if desired. ENJOY!

health snack ingredientsIf you would like to take this treat with you to go, you can mix it altogether prior to leaving, just be warned that the granola will lose its texture which you may not particularly like. Instead of pre-mixing everything together, keep the granola separate from the mixture in a sandwich bag or in a small plastic travel container and simply mix right before you plan on eating.

Also keep note that yogurt needs to be kept cold, so if you don’t have access to a refrigerator at work, you will need some type of lunch container/cooler with packs of blue ice, or simply ice cubes in a ziploc bag will suffice.

mmmmm yogurtAnother idea especially as a summer treat on a hot day with the kids, use a waffle ice cream cone and put all the ingredients inside and even top with a swirl of whipped cream. If time permits, place in the freezer for 30-45 minutes so yogurt semi-hardens and then enjoy. Healthier than the ice cream option, but take note that adding the waffle cone option, you will increase the overall calories by about 150-200.
