Just as when constructing a house, creating and maintaining a healthy life does not happen overnight. It takes time, diligence, and work to do it properly. This is your life after all, so you should want to ensure that when focusing on health, you take all aspects into consideration.
Therefore when building an actual foundation, you wouldn’t use brand new materials on one half, but then use faulty or distressed items on the other half. Your entire foundation holds up your house so it all needs to be structurally sound. Keep this principle in mind when focusing on your foundation – one healthy brick at a time.
This means that for each aspect of your day/week you should figure out what needs to be corrected so that the choice you make will be a healthy one. Focus on the unhealthy choices that you often make and see what can be done to fix those issues. Try not to avoid or disregard small problems because you’ll find that small problems will combine to create bigger issues.
For instance, if you find you have issues eating fast food too often, snacking late at night, drinking too much soda, and never exercising, combining all these issues will create one giant problem and most likely the reason for weight gain.
Each one of these decisions needs to become a strong brick in your foundation, not a weak link. Remember, all this comes down to you and your dedication to the entire process. The more willing you are to fix what is not currently working, then the foundation you’ll have will be sturdy and healthy which will eventually lead to the weight loss success you’re striving for.
